Term Life Insurance

Pure protection for a set period — 10, 20, or 30 years. It is the lowest-cost way to replace income and cover a mortgage while children are young. Term builds no cash value, but many policies include conversion privileges, letting you convert to permanent coverage later without new medical exams. Term is also commonly collaterally assigned to a lender to secure a business or SBA loan.

Whole Life Insurance

Permanent coverage with a guaranteed level premium, guaranteed death benefit, and guaranteed cash value growth. Participating policies may also pay dividends. Properly structured high cash-value whole life is the foundation of 'private banking' strategies: you borrow against your own cash value, tax-advantaged, while it keeps compounding.

Indexed Universal Life (IUL)

Permanent life insurance whose cash value earns interest linked to a market index such as the S&P 500 — subject to a cap — with a 0% floor. Cash value grows tax-deferred and can be accessed through policy loans that are generally income-tax-free, making IUL a powerful supplemental retirement tool when funded properly.

Fixed Index Annuities (FIAs)

A contract with an insurance company that credits interest based on an index, with your principal protected from market loss. Growth is tax-deferred, and optional income riders can turn the contract into a paycheck you cannot outlive. FIAs are ideal for rolling over a 401(k) or IRA within 10–15 years of retirement. They carry surrender periods, so they are for long-term money.

Principal Guarantees & the 0% Floor

In an IUL or FIA, a negative index year credits 0% — not a loss. Prior gains are locked in each year ('annual reset'). You trade some upside, through caps or participation rates, for never giving back what you earned. That is how these tools protect retirees from sequence-of-returns risk.

Business Buy-Sell Funding

A buy-sell agreement spells out what happens to an owner's share if they die, become disabled, or leave. Life and disability insurance fund it, so surviving partners receive the cash to buy out the departing owner's family at a fair, pre-agreed price — without draining company cash or taking on debt. Structures include cross-purchase and entity redemption.

Key Person Strategies

Key person coverage pays the business if an essential owner or executive dies or is disabled, covering lost revenue, recruiting costs and lender confidence. Cash-value policies can also be used as 'golden handcuffs' — executive bonus and deferred-compensation plans that reward top talent for staying.

Group Benefits & Supplemental Worksite Products

Group health alternatives, dental and vision (including packages built for dental practices), and voluntary worksite coverage like accident, hospital and disability help employers attract and keep great people. Voluntary products cost the employer little or nothing while giving employees protection major medical does not.

Living Benefits & Disability Riders

Many modern policies let you access part of the death benefit early if you suffer a chronic, critical, or terminal illness. Disability income and accident/sickness coverage replace your paycheck if you cannot work. Together they protect your plan while you are alive — not just after.
